I grew up in Columbia, Missouri, as the youngest of four children. I eventually ended up attending high school in Blue Springs, Missouri, just outside of Kansas City. Then I went to college at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, and also spent a year studying at St. Peter’s College at Oxford University in Oxford, England. My first few jobs were in the retail and service industries, until I eventually started working as a law clerk and an associate attorney. I am the only attorney in my extended family. I knew I wanted to be an attorney at 13 years old when I participated in my first beginner debate tournament in junior high school. I went to a year of law school at Baylor University then I spent my other two years at University of Missouri-Kansas City. I started working in personal injury law during and right after law school as an associate attorney. I then maintained a general solo law practice for ten years. I have now spent the past 16 years as a practicing personal injury lawyer for the Brown & Crouppen Law Firm, which I believe is the largest plaintiff’s law firm based in Missouri. In my free time, I enjoy running and lifting weights, travel and spending time with friends and family. I am a member of the Kansas and Missouri bars. I live in Kansas City, Missouri, and enjoy rooting for the Chiefs and Royals.
