Sharif Gray

Gray Broughton Injury Law

I’ve learned that if you want real justice for your clients, you can’t default to the easy path. You take the big swings. You commit. You believe. And when the pressure spikes, you move toward trial—not away from it.

That mindset has defined my career.

I tried cases as a U.S. Army JAG Officer, as a Drug and Vice Prosecutor, and now as a partner at Gray Broughton Injury Law.

There is nothing more professionally exciting to me than preparing for trial, and nothing more meaningful than standing up for people who put their trust in me.

I care deeply about this work, and my record reflects that. Here are a handful of results from the last few years:

§ $20M verdict for a client who was abused by a caregiver at a residential psychiatric facility.

§ $10M verdict for a client who suffered catastrophic injuries in a head-on collision.

§ $2.7M settlement for a client with a broken femur and a brain injury after the defense contested liability and causation.

§ $1.5M verdict for a client who required a second knee replacement after a fall at a retail store.

§ $1.25M policy-limits settlement for a client who suffered a brain injury and severe orthopedic injuries in a head-on crash.

§ $840K settlement for a client who suffered a traumatic brain injury after being assaulted by a bar’s bouncer.

“I was told Sharif was one of the best lawyers in town, but I didn’t realize I was also getting one of the best human beings. We won the case, and his impact was felt by everyone in the courtroom. I’ll never forget what he did for me and my family.” —Myra G.

“I co-counseled a major case with Sharif, and he and his team were perfect partners. A generational talent with a natural rapport with juries—smart, hardworking, and a true team player. He cares deeply about his clients and the work. I can’t recommend him enough.” —Maureen Farrell

What drives everything I do is my belief that it is our responsibility as trial lawyers to:

§ Hold the responsible individual or corporation fully accountable,

§ Make our communities safer by preventing future harm, and

§ Secure compensation that recognizes the full and fair value of what was taken from our client’s health and quality of life.

You can feel fear. But you cannot let it dictate how you show up.

When trial is close, doubt has no place. You prepare relentlessly. You apply pressure. And you take the chances you would take if you knew you could not lose.

Sharif graduated valedictorian and as a distinguished military graduate from the Virginia Military Institute, received his law degree from the University of Virginia, earned his Masters of Law degree in Trial Advocacy from the Temple University Beasley School of Law, and graduated from the Gerry Spence Method—the premier training for trial lawyers who represent people.

Outside of work, you’ll find Sharif spending time with his wife and two sons, grabbing dinner with friends, playing “competitive” kickball, or getting in a workout most mornings.
