I am from a podunk town in Southern California, but moved to Las Vegas just before High School, and basically been here ever since. I grew up in a house with four boys, and only one girl. Somehow, when we got married and started our families, the Universe balanced the scales and we all had girls. I have three of my own.

When I'm not working, I'm usually taking kids to gymnastics events, or attending tea parties hosted by my youngest. I love to travel with my family, but if it were up to me, we'd spend every vacation in Costa Rica. My wife loves to explore new places, so she plans trips both domestic and abroad. (Costa Rica is still my favorite).

Growing up I had a job as a runner at a law office, and swore I would never be a lawyer. I originally intended to go into the FBI, but graduated just in time for the Great Recession, when the federal government imposed a hiring freeze. So I went to law school to pass the time, and increase the strength of my application. However, I ended up not hating it, and eventually, when the FBI recruiter started calling me to come in, I politely declined.

I am a die-hard fan of the UFC, and even worked for them for a short stint when they were still only holding 6-8 events a year. Also, like every other Millennial male, I trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for about 8 years. Despite my best efforts, I can't get any of my daughters interested in doing it.

I love disappearing into a good story of any genre, whether in a book, movie, or in the courtroom. Stories shape the way people see and understand the world and I’ve been lucky to spend my career working in a profession built around telling them.
