I grew up in Detroit as one of seven children. After high school, I attended Grand Valley State University on a full-ride swimming scholarship. After graduating from college, I worked in Washington, D.C., for Congressman Peter Hoekstra. Thereafter, I pursued a Master’s in Political Science at Wayne State University before teaching at Colorado Mountain College in Aspen, Colorado. After three years living in the best place on Earth, I decided I wanted to make a greater impact in my community. I therefore returned to school to earn my law degree from Michigan State University. Upon graduation, I returned to Colorado to start my own practice. Outside of my practice, I travel regularly. In the last 2 years, I have visited Aruba, Bali, Costa Rica, Curacao, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Italy, Mexico, and Spain. Outside of traveling, some of my favorite pastime activities include basketball, snowboarding, surfing, and wakeboarding.
