I grew up in California and was in trouble a lot in school, but excelled at playing music. I also loved lawyer movies (To Kill a Mockingbird, A Few Good Men, Philadelphia, etc.), but I didn't know any lawyers growing up. It wasn't until my final year of majoring in music theory in college that it occurred to me to go to law school. I loved my time at the University of Oregon School of Law and, for the first time, excelled as a student (the law review, Order of the Coif, Mock Trial Team, etc.). I then worked initially as a public defender, then for a year as a corporate defense attorney, but then decided to work for myself and move back to California. I eventually founded Bay Area Bicycle Law, where I work to this day alongside my partner, Lucy Allen, and a few other family members/friends. These days, I spend the vast majority of my time on TBI and Wrongful Death cases.
