John Demas is the founder of Demas Law Group and one of California’s most respected plaintiff trial attorneys, with more than 30 years dedicated exclusively to representing injured individuals and families. Known for his trial skill, strategic thinking, and client-centered approach, John has obtained numerous record-setting verdicts and settlements throughout California.

• $32 million wrongful death verdict against the City of Sacramento
• $11 million confidential settlement involving a catastrophic vehicle collision
• $10.5 million bicycle collision verdict — one of the largest in Sacramento County
• $9.75 million wrongful death settlement against the City of Sacramento
• Multiple additional multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements involving traumatic brain injury, trucking, government liability, and catastrophic injury cases

John has a long history of active involvement and leadership within California’s legal community. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only organization limited to the nation’s most experienced trial lawyers, and previously served as President of the Sacramento Valley Chapter of ABOTA. He also served as President of the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association and as a Board Member of Consumer Attorneys of California.

A frequent lecturer and speaker, John has presented at seminars and conventions throughout the state for organizations including Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB), Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), and Capital City Trial Lawyers Association.

In addition to trying cases, John serves the legal community as a Settlement Conference Judge Pro Tem and Arbitrator in Sacramento County, and as a Mediator in El Dorado and Placer Counties.
